Cabin Crew Course Eligibility

1. Educational Qualification

To start your cabin crew journey, you must have at least completed:

• 10+2 / High School (12th grade) from a recognized board.

• Some training institutes may prefer candidates with a college degree, but it’s not mandatory.

Tip: Good academic communication skills, especially in English, are always a plus.

Most cabin crew training programs and airlines accept candidates who are:

• Between 17 to 27 years old.

• Some international airlines may accept older applicants, especially if they have prior experience in hospitality or customer service.

📏 3. Height and Weight Requirements

Since cabin crew need to reach overhead bins and move easily in the aircraft cabin:

• Minimum height for females: 155 cm (5 ft 1 in)

• Minimum height for males: 170 cm (5 ft 7 in)

• Weight should be proportional to height (within a healthy BMI range).

Some airlines have their own specific measurements, so always check before applying.

👁️ 4. Vision and Health

Clear vision is essential:

• Must have normal vision, or vision correctable with glasses or contact lenses (typically 6/6 or 6/9).

• Color blindness is usually not permitted.

• You should also be physically and mentally fit to handle emergency situations.

A medical fitness certificate may be required during training or job applications.

🌍 5. Language Skills

Good communication is key in aviation:

• You must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently.

• Knowing additional languages (like Hindi, French, Spanish, etc.) is a big advantage, especially for international airlines.

💁 6. Personality and Grooming

Cabin crew are the face of the airline, so appearance and personality matter:

• You must have a pleasant personality and be well-groomed at all times.

• Good communication skills, a polite attitude, and confidence are essential.

• Visible tattoos or body piercings are usually not allowed while in uniform.

🏊 7. Bonus Skills (Optional but Useful)

Some additional skills that can help you stand out:

• Basic swimming skills – required by some airlines.

• Previous experience in hospitality, tourism, or customer service.

• A friendly, calm, and problem-solving attitude, especially in stressful situations.
