Commercial Pilot License (CPL) is a license offered by DGCA that allows students to act as a Pilot in Command of any aircraft and get paid for that. A Commercial Pilot License (CPL) holder can perform flying work in single and multi-engine airplanes, and fly aircraft even acting as a co-pilot in aircraft. The CPL course is all about operating the aircraft in the air which includes general flying, aircraft testing, and skill tests as per DGCA requirements. Commercial Pilot License (CPL) training has become very popular among students who have the desire to fly an aircraft and learn every discipline of the CPL course which has increased the number of aviation schools and flight clubs in India. Commercial Pilot License Eligibility

The candidates appearing or passing his/ her 12th examination in Science stream with PCM/ 3 years engineering diploma from a recognized board/university.

The age limit must be a minimum of 17 years or above.

Commercial Pilot License Course Duration

A Commercial Pilot License (CPL) course duration of 8-10 months includes 80 hours for academic sessions on the ground and 200 hours on one aviation. Commercial Pilot License is a license that allows a person to serve as a pilot in an aircraft that runs commercially. Types of Commercial pilot Licenses

A commercial Pilot License is neither a degree nor a diploma; it’s a course for a license certification for pilots. However, there are several types of licenses available when it comes to we one aviation

Learner Pilot’s License– In order to be eligible to become a student pilot one must be 16 years of age (minimum). The minimum qualification to become a student pilot is to qualify for class 10.

Private Pilot License– There are several people who want to be a pilot in order to fulfill their hobby of flying. The duration of the program is between 4-6 months. An individual needs to complete 40 hours of flying in order to apply for a private pilot license.

Commercial Pilot License– In order to become a commercial pilot an individual needs to complete a minimum of 200 hours of flying. The individual must be 18 years old and should have completed his or her 10+2 with science stream (Maths +Physics mandatory).


The first phase of training is completed at an uncontrolled satellite base and majority of flight training is done out of Belgrade International Airport. The total course duration will be approximately 8 – 10 Months.
The CPL (A) ME IR (Frozen ATPL) can also be upgraded to an EASA license with certain additional flying efforts & cost and taking Flight Tests by an EASA Examiner, if the student is opting to do so.

Eligibility :

10+2 or its equivalent with a minimum of 50 percent marks in mathematics and physics.

At least 16 years of age to start pilot training.

Vision in one eye must be perfect. (6/6 eyesight) In the other eye, you could have an imperfection of 6/9, which must be correctable to 6/6.

You must be free of any disease that can hamper normal function and get your DGCA Class 2 Medical.
