For the Commercial Pilot License (CPL)

  • The minimum age of the candidate must be between 18 and 30 years.
  • The candidate must have studied Physics and Maths in their Class 12th.

Note: The newly revised laws by the Government of India have stated that the CPL is to be granted only with the prior three years of experience with PPL.

Also, if a student has to rise through the levels, starting from SPL, then they must:

  • Complete 15 hours of dual flight time with the instructor.
  • Clock in 60 hours of flying time of which 20 has to be solo and learn lessons on aviation and flying as well.

After acquiring the PPL, to be eligible for CPL, there have to be more than 129 hours of flying, making it a total of 250 hours.

10+2 or its equivalent with a minimum of 50 percent marks in mathematics and physics.

At least 16 years of age to start pilot training.

Vision in one eye must be perfect. (6/6 eyesight) In the other eye, you could have an imperfection of 6/9, which must be correctable to 6/6.
